Jollie Cole, 88, of Hudson, Michigan, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, January 25, 2025, surrounded by his beloved family.
Born on February 13, 1936, in Findlay, Ohio, Jollie was the son of Birdine and Emily (Barnett) Cole. In 1985, he met the love of his life, Debra (Burlew) Cole, and they shared many wonderful years together before marrying on November 22, 1996.
Jollie dedicated much of his career to Purdy Ford Tractor, where he took pride in his work. He also served his country as a member of the United States Army, spending part of his service stationed in Germany. Outside of work, Jollie had a deep love for life’s simple joys. He found happiness in tending his garden, playing cards, and gathering with family at the cherished Cole reunions. Music was a lifelong passion, he could often be found strumming his guitar and singing bluegrass alongside his brothers, a tradition that brought him great joy.
Above all, Jollie treasured his family, and his presence will be deeply missed by those he leaves behind. He is survived by his devoted wife, Debra Cole of Hudson; his brother, Ollie Cole of Osseo; his children, Teresa (Zane) Stockford of Morenci, Judy (Genaro) Reyes of Arkansas, James Schmitt of Hudson, Jesse (Stacia) Schmitt of Pittsford, and Bruce Moore of Pittsford. He also leaves behind a legacy of love in his 20 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, 16 great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Jollie was preceded in death by his parents, Birdine and Emily Cole; his son, Greg Cole; and 14 siblings.
His warmth, laughter, and unwavering love for his family will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Visitation for Jollie will be held on Thursday, February 13, 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, at the Somerset Congregation Church, 10449 N. Somerset Rd, Cement City, MI, with an 11:00 am Service to follow. Burial will follow at Somerset Cemetery.
