Jean Marie Misseldine, age 68, of Adrian, Michigan, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Sunday, February 2, 2025.
Jean was born on August 26, 1956, in Milwaukee WI, the second child of Albert and Amanda Misseldine’s seven children. Al and Mandy moved their family to Lenawee County when the children were young and made it their home ever since. Jean graduated from Adrian High School with the Class of 1976.
Jean worked for the City of Adrian as a payroll clerk, retiring after 38 years of dedication and service. She became close friends with several co-workers and maintained those friendships throughout her life. As a young adult, Jean enjoyed ballroom dancing, yoga, travel and lively times at home playing cards with her family. After retirement, Jean continued to enjoy traveling, walking with family and friends, working out at a local fitness center and maintained her enthusiasm for playing cards. In recent years, Jean and three of her sisters would play online Pinochle once a week which gave them an opportunity to hone their skill, laugh together, and stay current in each other’s lives. Throughout her life, Jean was an animal lover, providing a safe and warm home to many dogs and cats in need.
She will be dearly missed by her father, Albert; siblings, Kathleen Rygiel (Tom Aldrich), Mary Misseldine (Robert Clark), Carol Misseldine, Tom Misseldine (Karen), Jim Misseldine (Holly McCormack) and Sue Leedy (Dennis); nieces and nephew Erin Leedy, Kasi Misseldine and TJ Misseldine; several great nieces and nephews; and her best friend, Kylene Moore. Jean was preceded in death by her mother, Amanda and her brother-in-law, Charles McGlashan.
Cremation has taken place and a private service will be held in the future. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lenawee Humane Society.
