Adrian Mayor Reacts to City Administrator’s Retirement, Police Chief Prepared to Fill-in

Adrian, MI – The City of Adrian has approved a retirement agreement with former City Administrator Greg Elliott…as well as an employment agreement with Adrian Police Chief Vince Emrick, who will fill in as acting City Administrator.

WLEN News spoke with Chief Emrick and Adrian Mayor Angie Heath after the vote by the City Commission. This is not Emrick’s first time in the role, and he told WLEN News after the meeting that he feels confident in his ability to balance this new position with his work as police chief…

 

Though Elliott’s decision to retire was unexpected, Adrian Mayor Angie Heath says that he is leaving in good spirits and that she is grateful for his dedication to the city…

 

Mayor Heath expressed excitement to work with Emrick in this capacity, but was honest about the difficult search ahead for a permanent city administrator…

 

Elliott himself was absent from the meeting, as his paid administrative leave began on January 30th.
