Beverly “Bev” Ann Clement, age 94, passed away Friday evening, January 31, 2025, at Hampton Manor in Adrian, with her family by her side and the support of Careline Hospice.
Beverly was born on August 21, 1930, in Flint, MI, the eldest of Frank and Elizabeth (Knox) Morse’s three children. She attended Sand Creek High School and graduated as Valedictorian with the Class of 1948 and continued her education at Siena Heights College where she earned her bachelor’s and a master’s degree in education.
On August 29, 1948, Bev married David Walter Clement in Sand Creek, Michigan. They were blessed with over 47 years together before David’s passing on August 10, 1997. Together, they raised four children, with whom they shared a love of reading, attending plays and concerts, camping trips, and summers at the family cottage on Crooked Lake.
For more than 30 years Bev was an elementary school teacher for Madison public schools. She made a lasting impression on many of her students who would still see her in the community and remind her of funny stories from her classroom. She was a lifetime member of Sand Creek Community Church. Bev enjoyed reading, quilting, antiquing and bird watching. World travelers, Bev and David visited many countries including Greece, Spain, and Yugoslavia and Scotland.
Bev is survived by her children, Ann (Gordon) Berman, Ellen (Beau DeLoach) Clement, Paul (Theresa) Clement and Mark (Candice) Clement, grandchildren, Casey, Joshua, Jennifer, Sarah, Nathaniel, Ryan, Aliyya and Cassandra, and many wonderful great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband David, siblings, David Morse and Joyce Packard, and her close friend Jim Vanzo
A private burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery, followed by a Gathering of Family and Friends on Monday, February 10, 2025, from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Wagley Funeral Home, Adrian.
Memorial contributions may be made to The March of Dimes, Planned Parenthood, Hampton Manor Resident Activity Fund or the Lenawee Historical Society.
