Adrian, MI – Adrian High School Band Director Aaron Mykeloff has been arraigned on charges of criminal sexual conduct for off-duty conduct unrelated to his employment with the school.

A news release by Adrian Public Schools says that he was immediately placed on leave, and that the district is actively cooperating with law enforcement. The Raisin Township Police Department, who investigated the matter, said that Mykeloff is alleged to have had a sexual relationship with a minor. The 50-year-old was arrested on Monday. RTPD says that the investigation did not lead officers to believe this was connected in any way to his employment.

Adrian Public Schools news release said, in part, “We understand the difficulty of processing this situation for students and the community. We will continue to have support in place for students at school and encourage you to reach out if you have concerns for your child and how they are dealing with this information. Although the authorities have reported to us that this offense is isolated to off-duty, off-site conduct, we are committed to ensuring that students and parents have an open line of communication to report any concerns regarding this situation.”

Mykeloff is lodged at the Lenawee County Jail on four counts of 1st Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct…and had his bond set at $400,000. If anyone has further information, you are asked to contact the Raisin Township Police Department.

There is a Probable Cause Conference scheduled in Lenawee County District Court at 9am Tuesday, February 11th before Judge Laura J. Schaedler.
