Matthew Michael Osburn, age 56, of Adrian, MI, passed away on January 29, 2025 at his home under the care of Elara Hospice. He was born on July 23, 1968 in Tecumseh, MI, the son of Michael James and Mary Ann (Surratt) Osburn. On December 19, 1992, he was joined in marriage with Kelly Suzanne Browne in Tecumseh, MI, and they enjoyed 32 years together before his passing. Matthew proudly served in U.S. Army and was a Desert Storm veteran.
Matthew was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Tecumseh, MI, as well as a member of the Tecumseh Knights of Columbus. He was a man of many talents and interests. He loved fly fishing and was expert at tying his own flies. He also was an avid photographer, hunter, and expert marksman. Additionally, he served as a firefighter and EMT for fifteen years. Even with all of that, Matthew was a dedicated and loving husband, father and granddad, who absolutely adored his grandsons.
In addition to his wife Kelly, Matthew is survived by his mother, Ann Osburn; his children, Amber (Derek) Shadley of Garden City, MI, and Amanda (Garrett) Prieur of Tecumseh, MI; his sister, Tammy Carter of Tecumseh, MI, and his brother Steve (Lisa) Osburn of Sedalia, MO; and two and half grandchildren, Avery and Riley Shadley, and Eliza Prieur (on the way).
Matthew was preceded in death by his father, Michael Osburn.
At his request, cremation has taken place. A graveside service at Brookside Cemetery in Tecumseh, MI, will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions in honor of Matthew may be made to Til Valhalla Project.
