Judy Ann Benschoter, age 84, of Hudson, passed away on Friday, January 24, 2025, surrounded by her loving family at Hillsdale County Medicare Facility under the care of Hillsdale County Hospice. She was born August 5, 1940, in Tecumseh to Weldon and Geneva (Smailowicz) Sharp. On July 26, 1958, she married Leland Benschoter. He preceded her in death on September 4, 2004. Judy had been employed by GTE in Adrian, retiring in 2002. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Judy and her husband Leland attended all their children’s and grandchildren’s athletic and school functions with nothing but pride in their eyes.
Judy is survived by two sons, Tim (Andrea “Sam”) Benschoter, and Todd (Nicole “Nickie”) Benschoter ; two brothers, Donald “Skip” Sharp and Jerry (Lucy) Sharp; three sisters, Linda (Jeff) Bellino, Barbara Jones and Connie Garland; and 8 grandchildren, Kyle (Piper) Benschoter, Grant ( Courtney) Benschoter, Kate (Burke) Hart, Hannah (Travis) Smith, Emily Benschoter, Kylah Abbott, Brenden and Ashlynn Benschoter; Six great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Leland, she was preceded in death by her parents and an infant brother, Richard.
The Funeral Liturgy will be offered Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church Hudson with Fr. Todd Koenigskenecht as celebrant. Burial will be in Lenawee Hills Memorial Gardens in Tecumseh. Visitation will be held Monday, January 27, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m at the Eagle Marry Funeral Home, Hudson where there will be a Vigil Prayer Service held at 7:00 p.m.
