John Michael Elkins, age 69, died Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Springcreek Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Adrian, following a short period of ailing health. He was born November 15, 1955, in Boldman, KY, the youngest child of the late John Elliott and Linda (Damron) Elkins.
Mormon by faith, John was a longtime member of the Church of Latter Day Saints in Adrian. He enjoyed creating art, especially drawings and paintings, and was skilled at playing the guitar. He also had a lifelong admiration of both dogs and classic cars.
Surviving are his longtime caregiver and sister-in-law, Marilyn Elkins of Adrian; a brother, Ted (Patricia) Elkins of Boldman, KY; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and five siblings, Donald Elkins, Sarah Bixler, Sue Menesse, Peggy Ratliff, and Paulette Fox.
A memorial celebration is being planned for Johnny on Saturday, February 1, 2025. Further details will be announced in the coming days.
