
Adrian, MI – A recent study shows that between 2009 and 2023, 80% of Michigan’s traditional school districts experienced enrollment declines, with only three Lenawee County public school districts seeing any growth. In fact, the number of children in the State of Michigan has declined noticeably. Crain’s Detroit Business reporting shows the following numbers for Lenawee County’s public school districts:
Addison Community Schools Fall 2023 Enrollment 709 Change Since 2009 -25%
Adrian Public Schools Fall 2023 Enrollment 2,663 Change Since 2009 -22%
Britton-Deerfield Schools Fall 2023 377 Enrollment Change Since 2009 -29%
Blissfield Community Schools Fall 2023 Enrollment 1,131 Change Since 2009 -11%
Clinton Community Schools Fall 2023 Enrollment 1,252 Change Since 2009 11%
Hudson Area Schools Fall 2023 Enrollment 1,302 Change Since 2009 39%
Madison School District Fall 2023 Enrollment 1,617 Change Since 2009 11%
Morenci Community Schools Fall 2023 Enrollment 512 Change Since 2009 -36%
Onsted Community Schools Fall 2023 Enrollment 1,185 Change Since 2009 -29%
Sand Creek Community Schools Fall 2023 Enrollment 770 Change Since 2009 -17%
Tecumseh Public Schools Fall 2023 Enrollment 2479 Change Since 2009 -18%
