
Tecumseh, MI – On Tuesday, January 14th, at 7pm, there was a joint meeting of the Tecumseh City Council, the Tecumseh DDA and the Tecumseh Planning Commission.
There was approval of the Planning Commissions Annual report from their December meeting, and discussion regarding the Redevelopment Ready Communities Alignment and the Economic Development Strategy Update. This update described the business retention, expansion and recruitment efforts…detailing that the city had sold three city owned properties for development including Hayden Ford Mill, one property on industrial drive and one on campus parkway.
The former Herrick Hospital was sold to Midwest Behavioral Health Center with a planned opening of spring 2025.
They detailed 2025 economic development goals of a spec building at the Tecumseh Business and Technology Campus and tracking development agreements for the properties sold.
The Economic Development Director assisted with grant awards of over two hundred thousand dollars.
The planning commissions next meeting will be February 11th.
