Superintendent Nate Parker Gives Update on APS Diploma Plus Initiative

Adrian, MI – Adrian Public Schools Superintendent Nate Parker has provided the APS Board of Education with updates on his Diploma Plus Initiative.

First announced in 2023, the initiative was created to help APS students graduate with additional credentials, including college credit, career readiness certificates, trade skills, and pathways to enlistment in the armed forces.

During the board’s regular meeting on Monday, January 13th, Parker announced plans for STEM and career labs in each of the district’s four elementary schools.

The labs will be constructed during the 2025 through 2026 school year, with the goal of being open for the fall 2026 semester.

Parker also announced the hiring of Dan Scholz as the Diploma Plus project manager.
