Marcene Ione Zick – Clinton

Marcene Ione Zick, age 93, of Clinton, MI, passed away on Monday, January 6, 2025 at Kresge Health and Rehab Centre in Chelsea, MI. She was born November 16, 1931 in Manchester, MI. the daughter of the late Elwood and Amy (Williams) Kilbury. On January 26, 1952 she was married to Tracy Lester Zick in Angola, IN, and they enjoyed over sixty-nine years together until his passing on November 10, 2021. Marcene worked as a school secretary for Boysville twenty-five years before her retirement.

Marcene was a faithful and very active member of the Clinton United Church of Christ for well over seventy years. She also was a member of Eastern Star, and she especially loved helping with the Red Cross. In her spare time she enjoyed being outside and spending her time gardening and working in the yard. Marcene also looked forward to her excursions as part of the Ollies Group Tours and Bus Trips. Most of all though, her favorite time was spent watching her grandchildren, and great and great-great grandchildren as they grew up and all of their sporting events.

Marcene is survived by her children, Tracene (Jim) Boyd of Plymouth, MI, Tim (Karen) Zick of Adrian, MI, Amy (Mark) Hoffman of Tipton, MI, and Annette (Dustan Kendall) Murphy of Clinton, MI; nine grandchildren, Kelly (Tim) Mosser of Portland, MI, Carrie (Scott) Haertel of Algonquin, IL, Jennifer (Matt Haag) Vallie of Pinckney, Alex Zick of Adrian, Andy Zick of Tipton, Kayla Murphy of Clinton, Erin (Wyatt Fick) Murphy of Dundee, Amy (Marc) Uphues of Ann Arbor, MI, and Jennifer (Jon) Stout of Belleville, MI; thirteen great grandchildren, Jordan, Ava, Riley, Landon, Kya, Andrew, Penelope, Haylee, Palmer, Quinn, Matt, Austin, and Jasper; and one great -great grandchild, Kennedy Boyd.

In addition to her parents and her husband Tracy, Marcene was preceded in death by two sisters, Geraldine Boland and June Hamden.

A funeral service for Marcene will take place at 11:00 am on, Monday, January 13, 2025, at Clinton United Church of Christ with Reverend Diane White officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the time of the service at the church. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Clinton, MI. Memorial contributions in honor of Marcene may be made to Kresge Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center at Chelsea Retirement Community, or Arbor Hospice.
