Paul graduated from Adrian High School in 1982 and went to work in the car industry selling for several dealers before starting a boutique service agency catering to clients looking for a specific vehicle. His foresight predated today’s common purchase of a vehicle on the internet. Paul grew up on Devil’s Lake in Addison, MI and had a love of water, boats, skiing and just hanging out with his friends. Paul was always the life of the party wherever he went.
In 1987, Paul met Sheri Gordon at Mr. Ed’s restaurant in Adrian, and their life began when they were married on June 18, 1988. Paul and Sheri had two children Michaela Wiesman Hooper born in 1999 and Nicholas Wiesman born in 2001 and a granddaughter Wrenley Hooper born in 2023. Paul’s greatest loves were his children and granddaughter.
In 1990, Paul purchased an ice cream store in Jackson, Michigan, Dairy Delight 1 and then opened Dairy Delight 2. Paul was very successful in real estate in Lenawee County, Michigan before he moved to Siesta Key, Florida in the fall of 2002 where he continued to work successfully in real estate. Paul’s favorite activity was scanning the newspaper looking for a deal, whether it be a car, real estate or looking for boats or antiques. Paul could sniff out a good deal like a bird dog, long before Craigslist.
Paul was preceded in death by his son, Ryan Martinez who passed away in Adrian, Michigan in 1998 from cancer, his paternal grandparents Anton (82) and Rose (55) Wiesman, his maternal grandparents Leroy H. Pawling (88) and Ruby Bird Pawling (97).
Paul is survived by his two children Michaela Rose Hooper (George) and Nicholas Gordon Wiesman. He is also survived by his father Walter (Janet) Wiesman, mother, Jean Pawling both of Adrian, MI; brothers, Kevin (Beth) Wiesman of Punta Gorda, FL, Jon P. (Leeanna) Wiesman of Middle River, MD, David (Nancy) Wiesman of Adrian, MI; his sister Ann (George) Sundin of Tipton, MI along with several nephews and nieces.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Donations may be made to Camp DeSales, 1198 DeSales Drive, Brooklyn, Michigan 49230 in care of Father Tom Helfrich.
