William “Bill” Howard Seelye, age 64, of Manitou Beach, passed away Thursday, December 26, 2024, at Henry Ford Hospital in Jackson, surrounded by his family. Bill was born July 22, 1960, to Howard William and Margert (Schutz) Seelye in Marlette, Michigan. On October 30, 2011, Bill married Sharon Ruoff in Addison, Michigan and she survives. Bill was a lifelong mechanic, and it was said he could fix anything with wheels on it. Bill also enjoyed farming and driving trucks. Bill loved building or repairing vehicles and even turned a few pickup trucks into semi-trucks. Bill loved Antique tractors and restoring them and taking them to tractor shows. Bill also loved going to tractor pulls. Bill loved John Deere tractors most of all. Bill was always willing to help when people would call him especially when they had mechanic type questions. Bill attended Life Song Church in Osseo.
In Addition to his wife Sharon, Bill is survived by his children; Nathan (Jessie) Seelye, JanJee (Monica) Johnston, Howard Seelye, and Daniel Seelye; grandchildren; Jaeden Golombek, Abigail Seelye and Sarah Seelye; sisters; AnnaMary Seelye “Tuddie”, and Elizabeth Forrest; and extended family Samantha Golombek. Bill is preceded in death by his parents, mother and father-in-laws; Clair and Virginia (Ma) Ruoff; and sisters; Marie Strong, and Emily McNae.
The visitation for Bill will be on Thursday, January 2, 2025, from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Brown-Van Hemert Funeral Home, Addison. Funeral Service will be Friday, January 3, 2025, at 11:00 am. at the Brown-Van Hemert Funeral Home – Addison, with Pastor Matt Halleck Officiating.
