Jose Maria “Joe” Bill, age 72, of Sand Creek, died unexpectedly Saturday, December 28, 2024, at his home. He was born February 9, 1952, in Kerrville, TX, the sixth child of Willie and Maria De Guadalupe (Valdez) Bill. Joe was a 1970 graduate of Sand Creek High School.
Joe formerly worked for Ford Motor Company as well as the former Boysville of Michigan, alongside his work as a self-employed carpenter and sheap-shearer. Catholic by faith, he was a parishioner of Holy Family Parish, St. Mary Campus. Joe’s favorite pastime was shooting pool, and he loved traveling. He was blessed to spend most winter seasons between Kerrville and the Ranch in Leakey, TX.
Surviving are his eight siblings, Ramon (Marge) Bill of Houston, Texas, Frank Bill of Sand Creek, Willie Bill Jr. of Clayton, Phillip (Minni) Bill of Manitou Beach, Louis (Ronda) Bill of Morenci, Andy (Sue) Bill of Sand Creek, Tina Bill of Sand Creek, and Anita (Paul) Lanczki of Adrian; and numerous nieces and nephews and extended family members. Joe was preceded in death by his parents; a sister in infancy, Rachael Bill; and a nephew, Michael Bill.
The family will receive friends for visitation at the Anderson-Marry Funeral Home, Adrian, on Thursday, January 2, 2025 beginning at 3:00 p.m. and concluding with praying a Rosary at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Mass for the soul of Joe will be celebrated by Father Michael Newman, OSFS, on Friday, January 3, at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family Parish, St. Mary Campus in Adrian. Rite of Committal will take place at a later date in Sand Creek Cemetery.
