
John Johnson, age 75 of Adrian, died December 25, 2024, at the Hospice of Lenawee Home.
He was born in Flint, Michigan, November 30, 1949, the seventh of Raymond “R.C.” and Eunice (Henry) Johnson’s eight children. After graduating from Caro High School, John completed his education at Adrian College where he played football.
On September 30, 1969, John married Carmen Grady. This marriage was blessed with 55 years of making memories and raising three children.
John was a social worker in both Michigan and Florida specializing in children’s services. His outgoing personality led to many other jobs throughout the years including selling cars and personal training at the Christian Family Centre. John was a faithful member of the Adrian First Church of the Nazarene where he served as Minister of Music. He shared his faith on several mission trips and was an enthusiastic fund raiser for those trips.
In addition to his wife, Carmen, he is survived by his daughter, Cammie (Robert) Johnson-Rothen, son, Matthew (Sara) Johnson; grandchildren, Robert Rothen III, Andrew Rothen, Harper Johnson, Shira Johnson and Silas Johnson; and his sisters, Ruth Ann Weeks, Carole (Forest) Godin, and Mariellen Doenges.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Amy Johnson, brothers, Robert, James and Marvin Johnson, and a sister, Barbara Stewart.
A memorial Celebration of Life will take place at 11 a.m., Saturday, January 11, 2025, at the Adrian First Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Robert Moulding and Rev. Larry Betz officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
