Sandra M. Porter, age 90, of Adrian, passed away peacefully under the care of Hospice of Lenawee, at Hampton Manor in Adrian, on Friday, December 20, 2024. Born July 22, 1934, in New York, NY, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Pauline (Miller) Edwards. She married Leon “Bud” Smith on September 9, 1950, In Adrian, and he preceded her in death on February 26, 1967. She later married Aden Walker Porter of Blissfield on April 25, 1981, in Munson, MI. He also preceded her in death on March 19, 2016.
Sandra was a member of the Zion United Brethren Church, and was active in the Adrian Senior Center and the Red Hat Society.
Surviving are seven step-children, Aden Wayne (Debbie) Porter, Barbara (Gregg) Russell, Frank (Maureen) Packard, John (Sharann) Packard, Janine Packard, Kathleen Packard, and Bruce (Mary) Packard; numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husbands, Sandy was preceded in death by three children, Thomas, Stanley, and Denise Smith.
Graveside services for Sandra will be held on Friday, December 27, 2024, at Oak Grove Cemetery in Morenci.
