Erie Township Stabbing

Erie Twp, MI – A woman was stabbed in the 10600  block of South Dixie Highway in Erie Township.

On Monday, December 23rd, at approximately 8:00PM, Monroe County Central Dispatch received a call advising a female had been stabbed at a private residence.

Sheriff’s deputies arrived at the location and discovered the female victim suffering from a laceration to her hand.

The case is believed to be an isolated incident, which began as a domestic dispute, before quickly escalating.

The suspect, a 24 year old male from Erie, Michigan, was arrested and lodged at the Monroe County Jail.

The suspect’s name is being withheld pending formal arraignment in Monroe County’s First District Court.

The Michigan State Police, as well as Erie Township Fire Department and Monroe Community
Ambulance, assisted at the scene.

The case remains under investigation by Deputy Garret Moore and Deputy Melissa Henderson of the Uniformed Services Division.
