
Theodore “Ted” Burk, age 84, of Morenci, died Sunday evening, December 22, 2024, at his home, surrounded by his family while in the compassionate care of Hospice of Lenawee. He was born September 25, 1940, in Piqua, OH, to Carl and Lena (Sutherland) Burk. Ted married Beverly J. Hughes on October 7, 1961, in Morenci. Together they raised three children and cherished over 54 years of memories before her passing exactly nine years earlier, December 22, 2015.
Ted worked several years at Parker Rust Proofing in Morenci, served a short time as a Lenawee County Sherriff Deputy, and drove truck for the majority of his career for various companies. Ted, Bev, and their family enjoyed their time Up North at their cabin on the Pine River. He took great pride and enjoyment in taking care of his properties. His greatest joy came from his family, and he was very proud of his grandchildren. Ted was especially grateful for his family’s care provided to him during his last few months of life.
Ted is survived by two sons, Kyle (Sue) Burk of Morenci and Jon (Sarah) Burk of Waldron; a daughter, Carla Burk (Clint Heinen) of Adrian; six grandchildren, Riley (Holly) Burk, Melissa Burk (Tyler Schultz), Lena Burk, Madison Burk (Hunter Fackler), Morgan Burk and Makenna Burk; and a great-grandson, Krue Tanier. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Dale Burk.
The family will receive friends for visitation at the Eagle-Marry Funeral Home, Morenci, on Friday, December 27, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral service begins at 12:30 p.m. Rev. William VanValkenburg will officiate. Private interment will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery in Morenci.
