Ethel Marie (Miller) Cook passed away Sunday December 22, 2024, at Hospice of Lenawee with her family by her side. She was born April 5, 1932, in Detroit, Michigan, to Eva Marie Miller. Ethel graduated from Adrian High School in 1950. She married J.C. on April 8, 1950, in Angola, Indiana. They were married for 64 years before his passing in 2014.
Ethel was a faithful member of Bethany Assembly of God for 72 years. She was involved in teaching 3rd grade for 50-year, secretary treasurer of the Women’s Ministries, singing in the choir, babysitting the pastor’s children, funeral dinner ministry, assisting with water baptism candidates, VBS, and sending cards to people.
Ethel is survived by two children, Virginia (Gin Cook) Ron Sparks of Adrian, Les (Pam) Cook of Venice, FL. Also surviving are two grandchildren Jason (TommiSue) Sparks of Tecumseh and Jennifer (Malcolm) Lynch of Willis, MI., sister in-law Leola Cook of Foley, AL. She loved her five great-grandchildren, Skylar, Tristan, Jenika, Jaycee, and Benaiah of Tecumseh. She was preceded in death by her husband J. C., mother and several aunts and uncles.
The family will receive friends for visitation at the Anderson-Marry Funeral Home, Adrian, on Saturday, December 28, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. until the funeral service begins at 12:00 p.m. Pastor Ron Sparks will officiate. Burial will follow at Lenawee Hills Memorial Park, Adrian.
