Lenawee County, MI – A conviction against Michael Patrick Riley,  owner of Momentum Marketing was vacated by the State of Michigan Court of Appeals.  Riley was convicted by a jury in 2022 of larceny by conversion $20,000 or more.  He was sentenced by Lenawee County Probate Judge Catherine Sala to 3 years probation and restitution of more than $150,000.00 with a suspension of a one-year jail sentence, after being charged with selling advertising to be included in a telephone directory that was never published.

The State of Michigan Appeals court vacated the conviction saying that they did not believe that the prosecution proved all the elements for larceny by conversion and that the trial court erred with it did not direct a verdict for defendant.
