Gary Lee Easton – Tecumseh

Gary Lee Easton, age 74, of Tecumseh, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loving family, under the care of Hospice of Lenawee, on Thursday, December 19, 2024. Gary was born in Tecumseh on April 8, 1950, to the late Harold E. and Clara E. (Gillespie) Easton. After graduating from Tecumseh High School, he attended Michigan State University, attaining a Bachelor Degree. On September 2, 1978, he married Lorie A. Brooks at First Baptist Church in Tecumseh, and she survives. Gary retired in 2007 from the State of Michigan, Jackson State Prison, where he worked as an Environmental Compliance Inspector.

Gary was a member of Covenant Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Tecumseh. He dearly loved his family and time spent with them and especially enjoyed watching his grandchildren play their sports. He also enjoyed traveling, attending MSU football games and taking care of their labrador retriever Charley. In prior years, Gary served on the Tecumseh School Board, Lenawee County Fair Board, involved in 4H, Tecumseh Masons and helped found Tecumseh’s Little League baseball.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 46 years, Lorie; his children, Chad (Jacquelyn) Easton and Katherine (Michael) Nicholson; grandchildren, Hunter and Kaelyn Easton and Cooper and Luke Nicholson; and sister, Linda Glenn. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation for Gary will take place on Monday, December 23, 2024, at the Anderson-Marry Funeral Home in Tecumseh, from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM, at which time funeral services will take place. Pastor Richard Mortimer will officiate and interment will follow at Brookside Cemetery, Tecumseh.
