Blissfield Receives Housing Grant

Blissfield, MI – The Village of Blissfield has been awarded a $50,000 Housing Readiness Incentive grant from the Michigan State Housing Development Authority.

The Housing Readiness Incentive Grant Program provides funding to implement actions that enhance housing supply and affordability.

The Village has released a statement announcing their intent to utilize this funding to engage a professional consultant to help with a comprehensive re-write of their Zoning ordinance with emphasis on housing supply, diversity and affordability.

According to the statement, this rewrite will transform their current ordinance into a modern document that promotes the goals of Blissfield through an innovative and forward-thinking approach.

Village Administrator Danielle Gross said of the grant, “The funding will allow us to continue our forward progression, getting us closer to our goal of being prepared for future improvements and meaningful reinvestment in order to support the highest quality of life in Blissfield.”
