David W. Vehmeier, age 72, of Morenci, passed away Thursday, December 12, 2024, at ProMedica Charles and Virginia Hickman Hospital in Adrian. He was born in Adrian on September 1, 1952, to the late Lewis and Phyllis (Gunter) Vehmeier. David attended and graduated from Sand Creek High School. Throughout his life, he worked for Morenci Rubber, Hydro Aluminum – Bohn, Inc., and eventually retired from Inteva. On May 21, 1977, he married Robin Ferguson, and she preceded him in death on December 22, 2021.
David loved photography. He loved to take and edit photos of lighthouses, car shows, hot air balloon festivals, and the aurora borealis. He would even spend countless nights at Lake Hudson taking night photos. The other loved of his life was his dog, Aurora. He and her would take a walk every morning together.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Nick and Stacey Vehmeier; and a sister, Janet Mohr. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
Cremation will take place and graveside services will take place at a later date in Oak Grove Cemetery.
