Lenawee County, MI – A 38-year old woman from Tecumseh has been arrested and charged in connection with a fatal crash in August on Tecumseh-Clinton Highway, near Allen Road.
The crash this summer killed a 72-year-old man from Clinton and critically injured a 75-year-old woman from Clinton.
After an investigation involving the Michigan State Police Monroe Post, the MSP Traffic Crash Reconstruction Unit, and the Lenawee County Prosecutor’s Office, Holly ‘Dewitt’ Schmidt has been charged with one count of operating while intoxicated causing death and one count of operating while intoxicated causing serious injury.
Schmidt was taken into custody by the Michigan State Police earlier this week and was lodged at the Lenawee County Jail without incident. Schmidt was arraigned in the 2A District Court on Thursday, and her bond was set at $75,000.
