Adrian, MI – The Lenawee County Board of Commissioners recognized the hard work and dedication of all the election workers in the county with the reading of a proclamation by County Chairman Jim Van Doren, and comments by Clerk Roxann Holloway:
“WHEREAS, the foundation of a democratic society is built upon the right of every eligible citizen to vote, and the integrity of the electoral process is essential to ensuring that this right is upheld; and
WHEREAS Clerks, Election workers, and Election Inspectors serve as the backbone of the democratic process, performing critical and often unseen duties that ensure elections are conducted fairly, efficiently, and transparently, from registering voters to processing ballots, verifying results, and ensuring accessibility for all citizens; and
WHEREAS, these dedicated public servants contribute countless hours, often working long and irregular shifts, to ensure the integrity of our electoral system, often under demanding and high-pressure conditions, all while upholding the rights of every eligible voter; and
WHEREAS, their unwavering commitment to public service, professionalism, and accountability strengthens the trust and confidence of voters, ensuring that every vote is counted fairly and that the electoral process remains transparent and just; and
WHEREAS, the work of election workers, election inspectors, and municipal clerks reflects the highest ideals of public service and is crucial in supporting our community’s active participation in the democratic process;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, THAT, the Lenawee Board of Commissioners, do hereby proclaim December 11th, 2024 as a day to recognize and honor the hard work, dedication, and service of all Clerks, Election Workers, and Election Inspectors in our community, and to express our gratitude for their tireless efforts in safeguarding the integrity of our elections.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that we extend our deepest thanks to all election workers, election inspectors, and municipal clerks for their tireless contributions and steadfast commitment to the democratic process.
