Lansing, MI – State Senator Joe Bellino responded to the proposed $2 fee for water bills throughout Michigan to fund a new state water affordability program.
Bellino (pictured, left) is against the idea, which has been brought to the forefront during the lame-duck session in Lansing. He talked to WLEN News during a recent 7:40AM break about the fee, and said that the House cannot get a quorum to take action…
The program would develop income-based billing for certain households and prevent utilities from shutting off water service. Bellino represents Michigan’s 16th Senate District, which includes most of Lenawee, Monroe, and Hillsdale counties.
