
Barbara Jean Stanlake (Stubli), passed away peacefully on December 1, 2024, at Hillsdale Hospital. Born on November 25, 1934, in Clayton, Michigan, Barbara lived a life that was both rich and full, marked by her unwavering dedication to her family and her community.
She was the cherished daughter of Howard and Helen (Borders) Stubli, Barbara’s journey was filled with the joys and challenges of life, but she faced them all with a spirit that was both loving and caring. Barbara married the love of her life, Jerry W. Stanlake. Preceded in death by her beloved husband, her parents, her son-in-law Daniel Fike, and her siblings Donald and Beverly, Barbara’s legacy lives on through her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her four children: her daughter Karen Fike of Hudson, MI; son Roger Terrill of Jackson, MI; daughter Brenda Gibson of Kentucky; and son Dennis Terrill of Arizona. Barbara was not only a mother but also a proud grandmother to five grandchildren: Andrea, Nick, Amie, Stephanie, and Jeanne, and she delighted in the joy of several great-grandchildren, each of whom brought a twinkle to her eye.
For many years, Barbara ran a greenery in the North Adams area, where her hard work and dedication were evident. Her passion for nurturing both plants and people left a lasting impact on all who knew her.
As the family gathers to honor her memory, a graveside service will be held at Northlawn Cemetery in Adams Township, Hillsdale County, Michigan, on December 6, 2024, at 11:00 AM.
