
Lela Jean Tiede, age 86, of Blissfield, passed away at her residence, under the care of Hospice of Lenawee, on Sunday, November 24, 2024. She was born in Sturgis, MI on November 19, 1938, to the late Ronald and Mildred Strong. Lela graduated from Deerfield High School in 1957; and then on December 14, 1957, in Palmyra, she married Norman M. Tiede, and he preceded her in death on December 17, 2015. Lela worked as a sales clerk at Richland Furs and then Blissfield’s Old Country Store. Lela’s passion in life was her family. She enjoyed taking care of her home, cooking and baking, crocheting, and knitting. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Scott, Joel, and Tim (Lynn) Tiede and Amber Pierce; daughters-in-law, Sherry and Diane Tiede; grandchildren, Rhea, Jenna (Mike), Paige (Nick), Megan (Nathan), Benjamin (Samantha), Michael (Bailey), Kevin (Brittany), Michael, Eric (Megan), Todd, Miranda (Jason), and Kayleigh; and 24 great-grandchildren. Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by sons, Mark and Bryan Tiede; and brothers, Jack and Roger Strong.
Memorial visitation for Lela will be held on Monday, December 2, 2024, from 10:00 – 11:00 AM, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Blissfield. Memorial services will follow at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Rick Hogan, officiating. Inurnment will be private.
