Gerald Lee Porter, age 64, of Brooklyn, MI passed away on Friday November 22, 2024 at the Hospice of Lenawee Hospice Home in Adrian, MI. He was born on May 21, 1960 in Dearborn, MI a son of Patsy Marie (Wild) Porter and she survives. Jerry was a self employed contractor and worked as a mechanical engineer for several years as well as a carpenter. He loved building and had built his mother a western town because of her love for the old west. He enjoyed fishing, boating and was know as being very humorous and quick witted. Most of all he loved spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren.
Along with his mother Patsy, Jerry is survived by his children, Emily Porter of Tecumseh, MI, Megan (Mark) Stevenson of Clinton, MI, Eric (Carrie) Henricks of Sault Ste. Marie, Canada, Isaac (Michelle) Henricks of Tecumseh, MI and his bonus daughter, Chrissy (Zach) Gallan of Chicago, IL; a brother, Bobby Porter of Brooklyn, MI and seven grandchildren, Lily Porter, Phoenix and Raven Cote, Gabriella and Amelia Stevenson, Annabel Henricks and Olivia Gallan. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Lois Wild.
A celebration of life for Jerry will be held at 6pm Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at the Tecumseh Chapel of Handler Funeral Homes with Pastor Tom Hawkins officiating. Visitation will be from 3pm until the time of the celebration. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Lenawee.
