Barb was born on March 28, 1955, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the daughter of William and Sara (Hollywood) Schrock.
For over thirty years Barb worked for the Wayne Westland School District. She was committed to her students and took pride in being a para-professional in the special needs classroom. Her kindness and compassion made her a favorite with the students.
On May 8, 1999, Barb married Daniel Lee Beckey, and they shared 22 years together before his death on December 17, 2021.
Earlier in life, Barb was an active member at Palmyra Presbyterian Church where she taught Sunday school for several years. She enjoyed doing her diamond art crafts, cooking for her family and spoiling her cats. Barb’s sense of humor was always on display when talking with others. Her family was her pride and joy, and she treasured all the memories they shared.
She is survived by her children, Thomas (Carrie) Savickas, Jessica (Ben) Schall and Alexa Beckey; her grandchildren; brothers, William (Barbara) Schrock, Joseph (Christine) Schrock; brother-in-law, Stanley Beckey; and sister-in-law, SueEllen (Mike) Sheldon. Barb was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Daniel; sister, Linda Carvell; father and mother-in-law, Stan and Mina Beckey; and brother-in-law, Bob Beckey.
Memorial visitation will take place on Monday, December 2, 2024, from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at Wagley Funeral Home, Tagsold Chapel, in Blissfield. Services will begin at 3:00 PM with Pastor Douglas Holmes and Mike Sheldon officiating.
