Blissfield, MI  – An 18-year-old Blissfield man was transported to an area hospital after sustaining critical injuries in a single-vehicle crash in the village earlier this week.

The Lenawee County Sheriff’s Office reports that the crash occurred at around 10:30pm Monday night on South Lane Street.

Deputies say that a 2017 white Buick passenger was traveling on South Lane Street when it went off the road and struck a tree. Deputies said that it appeared to be traveling at a high rate of speed, and no other vehicles were involved.

The driver was transported to a Toledo hospital by the Blissfield Township Fire Department with critical injuries. The Lenawee County Sheriff’s Office says that alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash. Seatbelt use was unknown.

Tecumseh and Adrian Police, along with Blissfield and Madison Township Fire Departments, assisted the Sheriff’s Office. The crash remains under investigation.
