
Sharon J. Stambaugh, age 70, of Pittsford, died on November 6, 2024, at her mother’s home, with the care of Hillsdale County Hospice, surrounded by family.
Born in Chicago, IL, to Arnold “Swede” and Shirley Johnson (Burge) on April 19, 1954. She moved to Kenosha, WI, where she graduated from Mary D. Bradford High School.
Sharon worked for thirty years as a school bus driver in Wisconsin and Michigan. She earned her Farrier Degree in the early 80’s when she moved to Michigan. Sharon’s love for horses included barrel racing, breeding, showing at the local fairs, camping, trail riding and simply enjoy watching them graze on her and Ed’s 25 acre farm. She also enjoyed fishing and riding her ATV. Sharon was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Hudson.
Sharon is survived by her mother, Shirley, two daughters, Amy (Don) Brienen and Shannon (John) Knowles; three sisters, Laverne Tucker, Lori Davis and Dawn (Dave) Kramer; her stepson; Eddie (Darcy) Stambaugh and her stepdaughter, Angie Stambaugh. She is the beloved grandmother of five grandchildren, Josh, Jeremy, Alex, Rylee and Myriam and several step-grandchildren. Sharon will be missed by her many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ed and a grandson, Tristen.
Cremation has taken place and in accordance with Sharon’s wishes there will be no public services. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brown-Van Hemert Funeral Home in Hudson.
