Madison Twp., MI – The Michigan Department of Transportation has announced that they will be extending repair time needed for the US-223 bridge between Division Street and Treat Highway.
MDOT says that the Lenawee County bridge project will now be done in mid-December due to worse conditions than expected with the structure.
The US-223 bridge project officially began in early September. Currently, one lane is closed in each direction on the bridge, with traffic maintained with a temporary traffic signal…which has caused delays during peak traffic hours.
MDOT says that closing lanes during this type of work is necessary to provide the safest work area possible for crews and motorists.
