Don E. Price, age 93, of Waldron, passed away Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at the Hospice of Lenawee House in Adrian. He was born on March 28, 1931, to the late Emery and Pauline (Hileman) Price in York, Ohio. After graduating high school, Don served his country during the Korean War in the United States Navy, aboard the USS Jason. Upon his return, on May 31, 1958, he married Ruth Martin in Delphos, Ohio, and she preceded him in death on January 16, 2020.
Don was a lover of the 3-B’s – the bank, Bob’s, and Butch’s, where he loved going on thirsty Thursdays with his friend Bill and seeing his favorite bartender, Dallas. He loved to golf and sitting on his golf cart in his yard. He was a bit of a comedian, often telling his grandchildren they got their looks and brains from him, and he often told people there was the right way, the wrong way, and the Price way! He was a member of the American Legion Post 178 in Van Wert, Ohio, and the Waldron VFW.
Surviving are his sons, Melvin (Barb), Kris (Jen), and Scott (Marie) Price; grandchildren, Mackenzie and Matthew (Janelle) Price; and brothers, Roger, Paul, and Lewie (Elaine) Price. Along with his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Tammy Price; sisters, Ellen Mollenkopf and Eileen Lucier; sisters-in-law, Doris and Mary Jane Price; and brothers-in-law, Dean Mollenkopf, Norbert Ellerbrock, Ralph Ellerbrock, Terry Martin, and John Martin.
Visitation for Don will be held on Friday, November 1, 2024, from 3:00 – 8:00 PM, at the Eagle-Marry Funeral Home in Hudson. The Funeral Liturgy will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at 11:00 AM, at Sacred Heart Catholic Parish, with Father Todd Koenigsknecht as Celebrant. Interment will follow in Waldron Cemetery. Military honors will be accorded by Hudson Honor Guard.
