Karen Jean Garnsey, age 74, of Sand Creek, passed away on Saturday, October 19, 2024. Born April 2, 1950, in Adrian, MI the oldest of seven children born to Richard and Jean (Wesley) Hess. Karen attended Catholic Central, graduating class of 1968. She worked in clerical positions before marrying the love of her life, Clifford Garnsey, on April 25, 1970. They shared 49 beautiful years of life together, welcoming two sons, Dan and Job.
Karen began following her lifelong passion of raising German shepherds, mastering the art of Schutzhund training. Karen led obedience classes independently and for the City of Adrian. Her love of all animals led her to grow and develop her own family farm in Sand Creek, MI. She loved horseback riding, gardening, and photography, but her favorite past-time was laughing and sharing life with her grandchildren, Ethan, Daniel & Abigail.
Karen was preceded in death by her son, Dan Garnsey; husband, Clifford Garnsey; father, Richard Hess; brother, Michael Hess; and niece, Erin Barnhart. She is survived by her son, Job (Sarah) Garnsey; her three cherished grandchildren; her mother, Jean Hess; and siblings: Joseph Hess, Carol (Art) Barnhart, Jeannie Louden, Jacqueline (Todd) Dunbar, and John (Paul) Hess.
The family will receive friends for memorial visitation at Anderson-Marry Funeral Home in Adrian on Sunday, October 27, 2024, from 1:00 pm until a time for memory sharing begins at 3:00 pm.
