James “Jim” Robert McCann, age 84, passed away on Thursday, October 17, 2024, at Henry Ford Jackson Hospital. He was born on October 1, 1940, in Toledo, Ohio to the late Robert and Veronica (Filipowicz) McCann. On April 28, 1962, Jim married the love of his life, Barbara Beyer. They raised a family of four children and celebrated over 62 wonderful years together.
Jim had a passion for the history of Tecumseh, Michigan. He was a member of the Tecumseh Downtown Development Association, and his love of the Union Building eventually led to its restoration. As an entrepreneur and founder of The Chocolate Vault, Jim also enjoyed his work as a chocolatier and taking care of his wife, Barb.
To cherish his memory, Jim leaves his loving wife, Barb; four children, Mike (Rebecca) McCann, Susan (Michael) Root, Kathleen (Jeffery) Schroeder, and Robert (Eveond) McCann; 11 grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family will receive friends at Anderson-Marry Funeral Home in Adrian on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, from 1:00 pm until the service begins at 7:00 pm.
