
Adrian, MI – Lenawee County Drain Commissioner Jennifer Escott recently gave her Annual Drain Assessment Report to the Board of Commissioners.
The weekly email briefing by County Administrator Kim Murphy stated that the Drain Commission is responsible for the maintenance of 709 separate drainage districts encompassing over 1,500 miles of drains within the boundaries of the county.
The job also includes the administration and maintenance of nine separate sewer systems and four water systems, issuing and enforcing soil erosion permits, inspecting preliminary plats, and maintaining the court-ordered lake levels on eight lakes in Lenawee County.
This presentation to the Board of Commissioners was Drain Commissioner Escott’s last annual report, as she will be retiring at the end of 2024.
