Adrian, MI – The press box at Maple Stadium will be dedicated in Del Cochran’s honor prior to the Home Football game on Friday, October 25th.
A 1961 graduate of Adrian Public Schools, Del Cochran served in many roles for the school district, including as teacher, coach, administrator, and Principal of Comstock, Prairie, and McKinley Elementary Schools and of Adrian Middle School 5-6, now The Drager Early Childhood Center.
After his retirement as principal in 1999, Mr. Cochran was elected to the Adrian Public School’s Board of Education in 2002 and was hired as Superintendent in 2004, serving the District until 2008.
Cochran was also the Voice of Maple Football for 40 years at Maple Stadium.
The community supported the recommendation to recognize Cochran’s contribution to Adrian Public Schools and the Adrian Community. The Board of Education unanimously approved the motion to rename the press box for Cochran at a recent board meeting.
