Adrian, MI – Adrian Public Schools Board of Education heard a proposed District AI Strategy at Monday night’s board meeting.

Assistant Superintendent Derrick Richards presented this strategy to the school board, instructing them on how best to incorporate AI into the district.

In his report, Richards recommended certain practices for using AI and outlined his team’s plans to increase understanding of AI, train staff to effectively use AI, evaluate AI products and provide feedback on policy and procedure development.

The presentation concluded with a product demo of several AI applications, including ChatGPT, Magic School AI, and DIFFIT, all of which Richards used to create lesson plans, grade rubrics, and tests.

Richards said that his goal with introducing AI was not to have teachers do less, but more, and expand what they are capable of.
