James John Siemik, age 88, of Adrian, died unexpectedly on Monday, October 14, 2024, at his home. He was born a triplet on August 28, 1936, in Huntington, IN, the youngest of 11 children of the late Joseph and Lena (Sqeweryk) Siemik.

Catholic by faith, James graduated from Huntington Catholic School in Indiana, where he was raised. He proudly enlisted to serve his country as a member of the United States Navy, and he was honorably discharged in 1962. Returning to civilian life, he began employment in management with JCPenney in Huntington, IN, and ultimately transferred to the store in Adrian, where he would settle for the remainder of his life. He later went on to work for the former Simplex Industries. It was in Adrian that he met the love of his life, Barbara Diane Selders. They married on April 15, 1975, and together raised two sons. She preceded him in death on June 15, 2004.

James was a member of the Adrian American Legion Post 97. He loved to play basketball and help others, specifically employing his mechanical skills in helping repair cars. One of his greatest passions was his 30 year tradition of an annual month-long vacation to Puerto Rico. His greatest joy, however, came from the blessings of his grandchildren. James was a reliable and admirable father, who was strong-willed, complemented with a witty sense of humor.

Surviving are his two sons, Steven (Jean) Siemik of Monroe, MI; and Joe Siemik of Honolulu, HI; and twelve grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by all of his siblings.

The family will receive friends for visitation at the Anderson-Marry Funeral Home, Adrian, on Monday, October 21, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral service begins at Noon. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Lenawee County Memorial Gardens in Tecumseh.
