Adrian, MI – At their meeting on Monday, the Adrian City Commission revealed the results of their Translation Services Survey, which sought to identify areas of improvement regarding the translation of the city’s public meetings from English.
City Administrator Greg Elliott announced that despite only receiving 108 responses, the majority of respondents said that the availability of translation services was very or somewhat important.
A vast majority of respondents said that the language they’d most like to see meetings be translated to is Spanish, with support for multiple different services, including text translation and interpreters for both the in-person meetings and over Zoom.
Elliott noted one particular point of interest was that only 10 of the respondents actually used the current translation services, and satisfaction with those services was evenly split.
While commission members further discussed their translation services and what a possible expansion may look like, no decisions have been made regarding new services.
