Frenchtown Twp., MI – A K-9 and drone unit were utilized to help authorities locate an 85-year-old man with Alzheimer’s. Monroe County Sheriff Troy Goodnough reports that the search began at around 2:48pm Monday afternoon in Frenchtown Township when the Department received word that the 85-year old had wandered away from an elderly care facility.

The K-9, named Arlo, tracked the victim north from the venue, to a fence line along a lawn care business several hundred yards from the venue.

The victim was lying on the ground, where he had fallen and was unable to get up.

After being treated at the scene, the man was transported to ProMedica Monroe Hospital for further treatment and is expected to recover from minor injuries.
