Ethan Earl Wolverton, age 54, of Hudson, passed away on October 2, 2024, in the care of Hospice of Lenawee in Adrian. Born in Adrian to Robert Earl and Mary Ann (Ford) Wolverton on November 11, 1969. He was always proud to be born on Veterans Day. Ethan suffered from convulsive disorder all his life that made him special. Ethan’s life course was dramatically altered by viral encephalitis that he suffered at eight months of age. In spite of the challenges, he managed to live a life with happiness as well as his tribulations.

Ethan attended Onsted Schools through sixth grade. He then attended high school in Tecumseh and graduated in 1990. Ethan participated many years in Lenawee County Special Olympics. In his younger years, Ethan immensely enjoyed watching the Detroit Tigers, Lions, and Red Wings. He was a member of Holy Family Parish, St. Mary Campus in Adrian and was baptized in the faith by Fr. Louis Komorowski at St. Mary’s. His faith in Jesus over the years brought him much joy and comfort.

The family extends gratitude to the many physicians in Ann Abor and Adrian that aided Ethan. Particularly to the medical personnel at ProMedica Hickman and the Hospice Home for the kind and gracious care in the last month of his life. They also extend heartfelt gratitude and thanks to the CMH staff for the medical care they provided throughout his life and to the Pathlight Adult Foster Care staff that provided comfort and care over many years. These people truly went “above and beyond” throughout their course of duty caring for Ethan.

Ethan is survived by his parents, Robert Earl and Mary Ann (Ford) Wolverton of Onsted; siblings, Melissa (Chris) Burnor of Deerfield, Robert Wolverton II of Stockbridge, and Jennifer (Josh) Hume of Morris, Illinois; nieces, Anna (Joey) Hodges and Charlotte Hume; nephews, Eric (Katherine) Burnor, Garrett Burnor, Brent Burnor, Aidan Bolak, and Arlo Hume; and a great niece and nephew, Jace and Leighton Hodges.
