Clifford “Cliff” Duane Lambright, age 87, of Adrian, Michigan, died early Friday, September 27, 2024, at Gaslight Village Assisted Living surrounded by his family and under the care of Hospice of Lenawee.
Cliff was born on April 21, 1937, in Litchfield, MI, the second of Duane and Pauline (Curey) Lambright’s five children. After graduating from Litchfield High School in 1955, Cliff went into the workforce for several years.
In 1960, Cliff joined the United States Army and served his country for four years. After his discharge from the military, Cliff’s career path took him into law enforcement. He was a Michigan State Trooper for 25 years and then served as the Chief of Police in Clinton, MI for 10 years.
On August 31, 1963, Cliff married the lovely Judith Roush in Toledo, Ohio, and they recently celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary. During their life together, they raised three children, instilling in them a strong work ethic and appreciation for the great outdoors.
Cliff was a talented carpenter, making furniture that he shared with his family. He knew his way around the kitchen and enjoyed cooking and baking pies. Cliff loved being outdoors and spent his free time fishing on Sand Lake or pheasant hunting for many years. His family knew if there was going to be a cookout, the official “Grill Master”, Cliff, would be in charge of making sure everyone had plenty to eat.
In addition to his wife, Judy, Cliff will be missed by his children, Steven (Kristi) Lambright, Brian Lambright (Loretta White) and Karyn (Steven) Head; grandchildren, Jacob Head, Morgen Head, Drake Lambright, Seth Lambright and Paige Lambright; and his brother, Rex (Carol) Lambright. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a sister.
Memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2024, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Wagley Funeral Home, Adrian. The memorial service will begin at 2 p.m. with Pastor James Van Doren officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Lenawee.
