Enola Mae McNeilly, age 89, passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2024, in Holt, Michigan. Born on August 28, 1935, in Hudson, Michigan, she led a fulfilling life marked by dedication to education and family.

Enola embarked on her career in the Lansing School District as an elementary school teacher before pausing her professional life to raise her five children. She later returned to education as a paraeducator and eventually moved into Adult Education, where she continued to influence and inspire.

A graduate of Pittsford High School and Michigan State University, Enola was a lifelong learner and educator. Beyond her professional achievements, she was deeply involved in her community, serving as a Cub Scout Den Mother and being an avid sports fan, especially of MSU basketball and football. Enola also cherished reading and enthusiastically attend ed her grandchildren’s various events.

Enola was the beloved wife of the late Charles E. McNeilly. She is survived by her sons, David, Daniel (Helene), and Paul McNeilly; daughters, Kyle (David) Southward and Susan Vellanti; nine cherished grandchildren; and sister, Karen MacIntosh.

The family will hold a private service at a later date. Arrangements are under the care of Anderson-Marry Funeral Home in Adrian. Enola’s life was a testament to her loving spirit, educational commitment, and the joy she found in her family’s accomplishments. Her legacy will live on through the many lives she touched.
