
Jude Paul Broussard, age 16, passed away at home on September 15, 2024. He was born to Jude and Cleon (Grooms) Broussard on June 19, 2008, in Sylvania, OH and weighing in at 12 pounds and 2 ounces.
Jude was an exceptional student who advanced a grade and was expected to graduate high school with the Class of 2025. You may have seen Jude Paul riding his blue moped around Tecumseh until he turned 16. This allowed him to keep up with friends and gain independence with his job. He was a National Honor Society member with a plan to graduate college and become an engineer. Besides being a devoted student, Jude was an outstanding and versatile athlete. He played soccer and baseball in Tecumseh, Clinton and Manchester as a youth. He then went on to play sports at Tecumseh High School: soccer, lacrosse, tennis, and bowling. Additionally, he worked as an USSF soccer referee. He enjoyed woodworking at school with Mr. Jim Wonsavage.
In addition to his parents, Jude leaves behind his maternal grandmother, Sandra Grooms of Moorestown, MI; paternal grandparents, Paul and Geraldine Broussard of New Iberia, LA; sisters, whom he referred to as “His four other mothers”, Airiss Broussard of Dallas, TX, Vaulee (Cade) Courtney of Holden, LA, Lailee Broussard of Toledo, OH, and Gianna Broussard of Tecumseh, MI; several aunts, uncles and cousins; his future nephew, Jameson Courtney; his dog, Chester and his great friends, Wyatt Andrews, Peyton Mynes, JT Reid, and Finn Loudenbeck.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Weldon Grooms.
Visitation for Jude will be from 12pm – 2pm on Friday, September 20, 2024 at the United Methodist Church in Tecumseh, MI, followed by a 2pm memorial service. Please join the family afterwards for a meal in the church fellowship hall. Memorial contributions in Jude’s name may be made to the Lenawee Humane Society.
