Matthew “Matt” Upp-Edwards, age 33, of Adrian, MI, died on Friday, September 13, 2024, at his home.
Matt was born on February 15, 1991, in Toledo, Ohio, the son of Ricky and Terri Upp. When Matt was 3 years old, he was adopted by his loving aunt Renee, and they shared an incredible bond with much joy and laughter.
Matt attended school through the Lenawee Intermediate School District obtaining his 12th grade diploma. While in school, Matt did some job training through the Salvation Army. In more recent years, Matt showed his competitive side through gaming, often playing online with his brother Derrick. He liked listening to music, provided special attention to all the family pets and was a big Detroit Lions Fan. If there was a sci-fi or scary moving playing, Matt was sure to watch it. Spending time with his family is what Matt liked doing the most and his loving personality made him a “favorite” to everyone, especially his many nieces and nephews.
He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Renee and Timothy Ruple; siblings, Derrick Upp (Nicole Brown), Justin Upp, Nicole Parker, and Tiffany Edwards; father, Ricky Upp; his awesome nieces and nephews and his buddy, Kam. Matt was preceded in death by his grandmother, Maxine Upp; and aunts, Robin Carroll and Roberta Parker.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 19, 2024, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Wagley Funeral Home, Adrian. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. with cremation to follow.
