Carol E. Snead-Yanakeff, age 63 years of Addison, passed away on Friday, September 13, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on January 6, 1961, in Highland Park, the daughter of Vasil William and Darleen Carol (Polikowsky) Yanakeff.
Carol graduated from Addison High School in 1979. She married Darwin Snead on May 15, 1993, in Addison. He survives. Carol loved crafting, garage sailing, animal rescues and shopping. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with family, trouble making, storytelling and just being her hippie self. Carol was very proud of her family heritage and enjoyed working on her family tree and genealogy. She was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
Surviving Carol is her husband; Darwin, a son; William (Allison) Snead; two daughters; Misty (Mike) Beard and Sara (Joshua) Russell, a stepdaughter; Crystal (Lindsay) Crabtree, 19 grandchildren; two brothers; Billy (Lori) Yanakeff and David (Rosemary) Yanakeff, and many other extended family members and friends. Carol was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Robert William Yanakeff.
Funeral Services for Carol will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, September 19, 2024, at the Brown-Van Hemert Funeral Home in Addison with Pastor Lucas Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Somerset Cemetery in Somerset. Visitation will be on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, from 5-7 P.M. and Thursday for an hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
