
Alice Lillian Chilcote, age 86, of Hudson, died Wednesday afternoon, September 4, 2024, at Hampton Manor in Adrian, while under the compassionate care of Hospice of Lenawee. She was born September 19, 1937, in Evart, MI, the daughter of Cecil Lavern and Beatrice Lillian (Ramey) Lambert.
Alice lived her formative years in Evart, where she graduated from Evart High School, and resided in Hudson for the majority of her adult life. She married Gordon O. “Gordie” Chilcote on September 23, 1956, in Marion, MI. Together they raised four children and made over 50 years of memories before his unexpected passing on June 19, 2007.
Employed by Hudson Area Schools as a secretary, Alice also worked for Bob’s Market House in Hudson. She loved sewing and always looked forward to the social opportunity of going out to eat. She also enjoyed traveling, especially when it involved camping and listening to music and dancing.
Surviving are three 3 sons, Gary (Lori McDowell), Chilcote, Terry (Julie) Chilcote and Randy (Paula) Chilcote; her daughter, Renee (Jake) Gracia; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She also leaves three sisters, Mable Cole, Mary Ann Lambert and Cheri Heck; special friend, Shirley Carpenter and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Alice was preceded in her death by her dad, Cecil (Lavonne) Lambert, her mother, Beatrice (Elmer) Baldwin, her brothers, Duane Lambert and LaVern Lambert; and sister, Ruth Klinesteker.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation will take place. A Celebration of Life will be held at noon on Monday, September 9, 2024, at the Brown-Van Hemert Funeral Home in Hudson. Inurnment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Hudson. Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 8, 2024, from 4-7 P.M. and Monday for an hour prior to the service.
